Tips and Tricks >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Got a question? Post it on Our Message Board. Go to http://www.iteachyou.com Click Ask a Question >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> FAILING CDs When writeable CDs first hit the market, there were predictions that CDs written on your computer could last at least 10 years while CD-ROMs that you purchase could last up to 100 years. Maybe not true. Apparently the dyes, labeling techniques, environmental and storage conditions, and other factors can greatly affect these estimates. Bottom line: test your stored CDs periodically to see if they are still readable; re-write them periodically to be safe. News You Can Use GIVING OUT TOO MUCH INFORMATION http://snurl.com/santaletter Although this (and similar) free services that promise to send a letter from Santa to a kid look inviting, they are VERY RISKY because you are providing so much information. 300 KIDS LOST THEIR SCHOOL IN THE SCRIPPS FIRE http://www.chabadsd.org The Chabad Hebrew Academy in Scripps Ranch was burned to the ground in the recent firestorm, leaving 300 children without books, computers, and, of course, a place to learn. Luckily the brand new school they had been building was close enough to completion to allow the students to occupy the first floor. Check their website below to see the many items they need, including books and most other school supplies. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. 5 . . .
