HOW TO REMOVE THE >>> SYMBOLS IN AN EMAIL MESSAGE I've heard of some software utilities you can get that can do this for you. I don't know the names but I find it pretty easy to do myself in Word. Notes: - Exact steps may vary somewhat if you use a word processing program other than MSWord. The steps below look a bit lengthy but they include steps for instances where the > symbols are followed by a space and where they are not followed by a space. - If you know how to create a 'macro' in Word, you can create one so these steps can be executed with a keypress or mouseclick. Macros are a bit complicated to explain in an email message so you could learn how to do them by clicking the HELP pull-down menu in Word. 1. Highlight the text in the e-mail message. 2. Click EDIT-COPY. 3. Open Word a new document. 4. Click EDIT-PASTE. 5. Highlight all of the text in this document. 6. Click EDIT-REPLACE. 7. Type '> ' (that's > and a space -- without the quotes) in the Find What field. 8. Be sure the Replace With field is blank. 9. Click Replace All and then No. 10. Type '>' (that's > and no space -- without the quotes) in the Find What field. 11. Be sure the Replace With field is blank. 12. Click Replace All and then No. 13. Click Close. 14. Highlight text if necessary. 15. Click EDIT-COPY. 16. Return to your e-mail program and start a new message. 17. Click in the message portion of the email message. 17. Click EDIT-PASTE. 18. Add any additional text and/or attachments. DIGITAL CAMERA PICS NOT CLEAR? (excerpted from the November 2001 issue of Smart Computing) You have a great digital camera and an awesome printer, but your digital photos still turn out blurry? There are a few important concepts to remember to keep your digital images sharp. 1. Don't set your camera's resolution to hold the most pictures possible, or they'll be low quality. 2. Check to see that the software that imports your photos to your computer's hard drive isn't saving them at lower resolutions. 3.
