Following is a copy of the Net Happenings newsletter I sent out to folks who had asked to be included on my mailing list. ********** Important Note: As you know, SDCCD classes are funded by the State of California. With the current budget crisis, funds for programs we provide have and will continue to be severely reduced. As a result, the Summer 2009 semester for Continuing Education classes has been shortened. Summer 2009 classes will be offered from June 8 through July 17 --- ending the semester 1 month earlier than had been planned. I will keep you posted as changes are announced. Interesting Sites CREATE YOUR OWN MAKEOVER http://www.taaz.com/ ----- TRAILERS, LOCATIONS, AND MORE FOR CURRENT MOVIES http://www.imdb.com/ 6 . . . Bits and Bytes of Humor Working people frequently ask us retired people what we do to make our days interesting. Well, for example, the other day I went into town and went to a small shop down on 10th Street. I was only in there for about 10 minutes. When I came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. I went up to him and said, 'Come on buddy, how about giving a senior citizen a break?' He looked up, then ignored me and continued writing the ticket. I called him a heartless nut. He glared at me and then started writing another ticket for worn tires. So I called him a piece of stinking dog doo doo. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. I called him a jerk and a pig. Then he started writing a third ticket. I called his mother a name. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more I verbally abused him, the more tickets he wrote. Personally, I didn't give a darn. I came downtown by bus. I try to have a little fun each day now that I'm retired. Your source for life-long learning
