In the continuing series of tips to help you keep yourself and
your computer more secure...

AVOID BEING CONNED

PRINTER SETTINGS -- COLOR VS. BLACK INK

Many of us use an inkjet printer of one brand or another and
we all know how expensive ink cartridges can be if you
frequently print in color. However, most of what we print
really doesn't need to be in color. For example, it usually
isn't necessary to print a Webpage in color if you just intend
to read it offline.

Following are steps that should work on most systems to change
the default settings so your printer will print in black ink
until/unless you change the settings again. Note that the wording
may vary depending on the exact brand of printer you are using
on your Windows system.

- Click Start - Printers and Faxes (or Start - Settings - Printers).
- Right-click on the name of your printer in the list.
- Click Printer Preferences (or Properties).
- Click to change setting to Black/White, Grayscale, or similar
wording.

In addition, when you have the Preferences/Properties
dialog box open for your printer, check other settings changes
that are possible -- so you can choose draft quality or photo
quality as needed for a print job.

Before the Internet, applying for a grant consisted of
mountains of paperwork.

Today, the government has made things much easier.
Grants.gov lists over $350 billion in grants from hundreds
of different programs.

And, they've even made the application process simple.

Thoughts about Aging...

-- I used to have Saturday Night Fever...now I just have
Saturday Night hot flashes.

-- My memory's not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my
memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

-- Know how to prevent sagging? Just eat till the wrinkles
fill out.

-- I've still got it, but nobody wants to see it.

-- I'm getting into swing dancing. Not on purpose some parts
of my body are just prone to swinging.

-- It's scary when you start making the same noises as your
coffeemaker.

-- These days about half the stuff in my shopping cart says,
'For fast relief.'

-- I've tried to find a suitable exercise video for women my age..
But they haven't made one called 'Buns of Putty.'

-- How old do we need to be to stop lying about our age and
start bragging about it?
