STORED PASSWORD AND OTHER PERSONAL INFO
When using your browser on some Websites, you are offered the
option of storing your username and password so you won't need to
enter them again on subsequent visits. This information is usually
stored within your browser.

Although this Auto-Complete feature is very handy for sites you
visit regularly, it is risky because other people with access to your
computer (or even unanticipated remote access by hackers) can
possibly log onto your account.

If you want to check/change your browser's Auto-Complete setting
in most versions of Internet Explorer, try the following: Click
TOOLS-INTERNET OPTIONS; click Content tab; click AutoComplete
button; make changes as desired. I suggest you remove check marks by
Forms, User Names and Passwords on Forms. In addition, click
Clear Forms and Clear Passwords buttons. Similar settings and
changes are available in most versions of Netscape by clicking
EDIT-PREFERENCES.

SPEED UP DISPLAY OF MENUS ON SCREEN
- Right-click on the Desktop.
- Click Properties.
- Click Appearance (in Windows XP only).
- Click Effects.
- Windows 98: Click to uncheck Animate Windows, Menus, and Lists.
- Windows ME/2000: Click to uncheck Use Transition Effects for Menus and Tooltips.
- Windows XP: Click to uncheck Use the Following Transition Effect for Menus and Tooltips.
- All Versions: Click OK; click Apply (if available); click OK.

5 . . . Non-Nerdy Stats

The population of this country is 237 million. 104 million are
retired. That leaves 133 million to do the work. There are
85 million in school, which leaves 48 million to do the work.
Of this there are 29 million employed by the federal government,
leaving 19 million to do the work. 2.8 million are in the Armed Forces,
which leaves 16.2 million to do the work. Take from the total the
14,800,000 people who work for State and City Governments and
that leaves 1.4 million to do the work. At any given time there are
188,000 people in hospitals, leaving 1,212,000 to do the work.
Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons.

That leaves just two people to do the work. You and me. And you're
sitting at your computer reading jokes.

6 . . . Bits and Bytes of Humor

My Retirement Program

If you had bought $1000 of Nortel stock three years ago, it
would now be worth $49.

With Enron, you would have $16.50 of the original $1,000.

With Worldcom, you would have less than $5 left.

If you had bought $1,000 worth of Budweiser (the beer, not the
stock) one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans
for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.

Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink
heavily and recycle.

This is my new retirement program, I call it my 401 Keg program.
